Keepshut London was appointed to carry out fire door remedial works, FD30 fire door replacements and a comprehensive condition survey at the Grade Listed Royal Horse Guards Treasury Building in central London. This historic and operationally busy building required a sensitive and well-planned approach to fire safety compliance, while preserving its architectural significance.
The scope of works included the repair and upgrade of existing fire doors, the replacement of non-compliant doors with FD30-rated fire doors and a detailed fire door condition survey completed in line with the BM TRADA Fire Door Scheme. All works were delivered in accordance with current fire safety legislation and recognised third-party standards.
Due to the high footfall and continuous use of the building, a significant proportion of the works were completed out of hours. This approach minimised disruption to occupants and visitors while ensuring fire safety improvements were delivered efficiently and safely.
The condition survey provided a clear assessment of fire door compliance and performance, supporting informed decision-making for ongoing maintenance and future remedial works. Wherever possible, our approach prioritised repair over replacement to manage costs and retain original features appropriate to a Grade Listed property.
