FIRE DOOR REGULATIONS AND COMPETENCY

Health & Safety Policy
Health & Safety PolicKeepshut London is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety across all fire door, compartmentation and passive fire protection works. This policy outlines the procedures and controls we have in place to protect our employees, clients, occupants and others who may be affected by our activities.

Risk Assessment Procedures
All works are subject to risk assessment before and during attendance on site. Site-specific risks are identified and assessed, including working in occupied buildings, care environments and live premises. Where required, method statements are produced to outline safe systems of work.
Risk assessments are reviewed if site conditions change or if additional hazards are identified during works.

Site Safety Protocols
Our engineers follow clear site safety protocols at all times. This includes signing in and out, complying with site rules, maintaining safe access and egress routes and ensuring work areas are kept clean and controlled. Works are planned to minimise disruption and risk to occupants, particularly in care homes, hotels and higher-risk buildings.

Unsafe conditions or practices are reported immediately and works are paused where necessary to maintain safety.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Appropriate PPE is provided and worn as required for each task. This may include safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, respiratory protection and high-visibility clothing. PPE requirements are determined through risk assessment and site conditions and are monitored by supervisory staff.

Accident and Incident Reporting
All accidents, incidents and near misses are reported in line with our internal reporting procedures. Incidents are recorded, investigated where required and appropriate corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence. Where necessary, incidents are reported to the Client and relevant authorities in accordance with legal requirements.

COVID-19 Safety Measures
Keepshut London continues to follow relevant public health guidance when attending site. Measures include maintaining good hygiene practices, using appropriate PPE where required and respecting any site-specific COVID-19 controls. Engineers are instructed not to attend site if unwell and to follow Client health and safety procedures at all times.

Commitment to Safety
Health and safety is a shared responsibility. Keepshut London regularly reviews its procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation and best practice. This health and safety policy supports our role as a responsible fire door contractor working across commercial, residential and higher-risk buildings.
